ABOUT US – OUR TASMANIA HISTORY & BUSINESS ETHOS
We have come a long way since our humble beginnings in 1993 when Rob purchased his first vehicle a Bedford, with just one driver. The fleet now consists of coaches ranging from 7 seats to 57 seats and employing 25 local staff, comprising of strong, capable, and experienced drivers, hostesses, reservations team, workshop mechanics and operations.

We are still expanding the business as seen in the last six years branching out into general charter, building our range of transport and touring services to include transfers, conference transport, pre-and post-conference tours, Travel Club tours and general charter multi-day and day tours throughout Tasmania.

We are members of Business Events Tasmania, Destinations Southern Tasmania, the Australian Tourism Export Council, the Port Arthur & Tasman Tourism Association, and the Tasmanian Bus Association. We have the Australian Tourism Accreditation Program accreditation and a Commercial Visitor Services Licence with Tasmania Parks and Wildlife Service.

ABOUT US – NDIS ACCREDITED
Flexibility is the name of the game.
Many disabled tourists and School children spend hours and hours before their trip trying to find out if the tourist attractions they want to visit are accessible to wheelchair users. Often this information is very basic and does not answer all the questions a disabled traveller may require; the odds are that we can come up with a tour or charter to suit you
We have vehicles with a variety of configurations for a mix of wheel chair and standard seating, and
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is the new way of providing individualised support for people with disability, their families, and carers. The NDIS is insurance, which gives us all peace of mind. Disability can affect anyone and having the right support makes a big difference.

ABOUT US – OUR COACHES
The Coal River Coaches fleet is used for Tasmanian bus charters and currently consists of predominately Mercedes Benz based vehicles. With our extensive fleet, we are proud to say there is the capacity to work with all sizes of groups due to the flexibility of our vehicle sizes.
We are capable of carrying one or two wheelchair passengers per vehicle. Each vehicle is equipped with a side-loading wheel chair hoist, plus all required tie down safety straps and individual seat belts for each wheelchair passenger.
With one of the largest wheelchair fleets in southern Tasmania Coal River Coaches currently service, The Southern Support School, Mosaic Respite Centre, St Giles Respite Centre and Derwent Waters Retirement Village.
Our coaches are fitted with individual cloth seats with three-point seat belts, while some are also fitted with armrests and recliners. The coach fleet is predominately white, which allows for company or group branding if required (please ask us about this service).
Coal River Coaches is a member of the Tasmanian Bus Association and maintains all vehicles to the highest industry standards.
Our Wheel Chair Buses are all the latest models and in exceptional condition. Our purpose-built vehicles provide convenience and a practical way to visit all the sights around Tasmania.
